Disaster Planning Solutions
Whether caused by human error, computer virus, or hardware failure,
data loss is a fact of life with modern computing. The chances
of losing data increase in direct proportion to the file’s
importance. Remember, with data loss it is not a question of if
but when. At CompRecovery we understand the importance of prevention
and we will help you in any way possible to get you prepared in
the event of a disaster. Our recovery specialists/consultants
will design a Disaster Planning strategy based on your particular
situation. That is why CompRecovery has developed two disaster
planning strategies:
CompRecovery Basic Planning Solutions (CBPS)
CompRecovery Ultimate Planning Solutions (CUPS)

Types
of backups.
Our consultant
will explain you in detail the different types of backups and
help you chose the best one for your particular situation.
Disaster Recovery kit. The consultant will make sure that when
disaster strikes you have all the necessary tools for the recovery
procedure. For example, if you are using Windows you’ll
need all Windows CDs, the recovery software, a current startup
disk, all original application CDs, all drivers on diskettes/CDs,
and all backups’ tapes/CDs. Just to name a few.
Backup
with consistency.
Regardless of the type of medium (tape, CD-R/RW or floppy) you
choose to backup your data on, we will make sure that your backups
are performed on a consistent basis. For example, you may not
always need to perform a full backup of your system but you should
get into the habit of backing up consistently. Especially when
major changes are made on the system.
Verify
the backups.
Surprisingly most users don’t verify their backups after
they are made, only to find out during the restore that they were
damaged or incomplete. We will make sure that every backup is
readable before putting it away.
Plan testing. We will assist you in performing periodic testing
to get you prepared in the event of an actual disaster. Periodic
testing will give you an idea of the downtime you may be facing
during the restore process and get you prepared for unexpected
obstacles.
PC
to the rescue.
If your PC is temporarily or permanently inoperable and/or inaccessible
due to a hardware failure, software, or a natural disaster and
this cause your business to slow down. CompRecovery will build
a PC and send it to you to get your restore up and running. This
will allow you to get a new PC or repair your ailing one without
interrupting your activities. The last thing you need is not being
able to place orders or see your accounting gone as the financial
consequences of your predicament sink in. For more information

CompRecovery
Ultimate Planning Solution (CUPS)
Although
a backup is the best prevention, it requires careful preparation.
You need to make sure that you have the proper software and hardware
for the operation. Depending on the size and importance of your
data it could take hours or even days to bring your system back
to its original state. Keeping track of all those tapes, CDs,
and floppies can be very tedious, confusing and hard to keep track
of. Remember, time is your business most valuable asset that is
why you need CUPS. With CUPS you do nothing and we do everything.
Ghost
your system. We
will ghost your system to CompRecovery’s server. Ghosting
is getting a mirror image of your system with your original O/S,
device drivers, applications, utilities, and your data. In the
event of a disaster you’ll get your system back to the way
it was within minutes.
Network
Backup.
We will establish network connectivity between your system and
CompRecovery’s server to perform a remote backup of your
system. Depending on your particular situation we will setup a
backup schedule. For example every Friday of the month (usually
once a month) we will ghost (do a full backup) your system, and
from Monday to Thursday we will perform incremental or differential
backups. In the event of a real disaster we will restore your
incremental or differential backups to your last full backup in
no time and get you back in business. Access your PC anytime and
from anywhere in the world. With new and sophisticated software
we will allow you to access your PC through CompRecovery’s
server anytime and from anywhere in the world. You just can’t
beat that. In the event of a disaster you can log on immediately
to your PC through CompRecovery’s server and get your business
going.
Plan
